Problem Note 64022: Geographic maps do not display in SAS® Field Quality Analytics when you try to use an NTLM authenticated proxy server to access OpenStreetMap
Using a Microsoft Windows NT LAN Manager (NTLM) proxy server is not supported for SAS Field Quality Analytics. As a result, no geographic maps are displayed in the SAS® Quality Analytic Suite or SAS Field Quality Analytics, as expected. This problem occurs because the SAS Web Server is configured to use an NTLM authenticated proxy server to access OpenStreetMap, and the JAR files that are required for NTLM support are not present in the web applications.
Follow the steps below to manually configure SAS Field Quality Analytics and the SAS Quality Suite for use with an NTLM proxy server. Once you perform these steps, geographic maps should display, as expected, when you use an NTLM proxy server. (Note: If you do not use an NTLM proxy server, you do not need to perform these steps. The geographic maps should display as expected.)
- Move the appropriate JAR files into the SAS Field Quality Analytics directories, as explained below:
- Copy the following three JAR files from the SASHOME\SASHome\SASVersionedJarRepository\eclipse\plugins directory:
- httpcore.jar (httpcore_4.2.4.0_SAS_20130529113424)
- httpclient.jar (httpclient_4.2.5.0_SAS_20130529113611)
- sas.commons.flex.midtier.jar (sas.commons.flex.midtier_407000.4.0.20150513190000_d4flxcmn47)
- Paste the JAR files into the following two directories:
- SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\WebAppServer\SASServer8_1\sas_webapps\sas.fieldqualityanalytics.war\WEB-INF\lib
- SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\WebAppServer\SASServer8_1\sas_webapps\sas.qualitysuite.war\WEB-INF\lib
- Once that step is done, ensure that you have the appropriate Java virtual machine (JVM) options for proxy authentication in your setenv.sh file (for UNIX environments) or your wrapper.conf file (for Windows environments). The proxy settings that are required for NTLM authentication are explained in the document Enable Support for Forward Proxy Authentication.
- Restart the SAS® Web Application Server on which SAS Field Quality Analytics is deployed (SASServer8_1). A restart is required.
You can perform these steps each time that the SAS Field Quality Suite and SAS Field Quality Analytics are redeployed or are rebuilt using SAS® Deployment Manager.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
This problem occurs when you attempt to use an NT LAN Manager (NTLM) authenticated proxy server to access OpenStreetMap for SAS Field Quality Analytics 6.1. Using an NTLM proxy is not supported for SAS Field Quality Analytics 6.1 without manual changes.
